Remember that last installment? The message that we will always fall short of the glory of God? Well here you go. The best news ever. Even though we are the opposite of deserving, Christ sacrificed himself to pay for our sin. It is easy to say that Christ died for your sins, but impossible to truly understand.
Someone once told us a story of two brothers who were very close. One was a judge, and the other committed a horrendous crime. When the criminal was brought before his brother (the judge), he begged for a ruling of innocence. The judge made his final decision: the brother was guilty of the crime he committed and must pay the ultimate price; the death sentence. Before the criminal brother was sent away to face his sentence, the judge asked to see him in his chambers. The judge then started taking off his robes, and handing them to his brother. He explained; “You are guilty, and justice must be served. But I love you so much, I will give my life and you can leave a free man.”
Spend time this weekend asking Christ to reveal his love for you.
